Thank you for such a fabulous 13th year of Chloe Giancola Photography! As we begin year 14, January and February are some of our quieter months where our Lightroom isn’t bursting at the seams and we are not out for shoots for multiple evenings of the week or every weekend. While I do find it hard to rest and take a break at times, I have really learned how necessary it is to sustain a work/life balance year after year. It keeps my creativity and motivation fresh, honors my family, and if God commands us to rest and He even did to set the example, I better too!
In the winter since I have a little more time, I like to give more attention to doing things around my home, reevaluating anything that is working or not for us, more new recipe research, more crafts, more indoor/outdoor projects with the help of my husband, and finally getting around to editing my own family’s personal photos <3
Usually I share some of this in reels on Instagram throughout the year, but I’ve decided to blog this series instead this year, naming it #contentwithChloe where I will share weekly one beauty/health product I am loving, recipe recommendations I’ve tried that the whole family appreciates, and a craft/project too!
No affiliate links here, but I will include where you can find them. I hope this winter series inspires you in the kitchen, to create something new, or most importantly in your home where I hope you feel restored and the most joy.
My new favorite lip combo
My new lip combo I am loving! I am certainly not a makeup artist (that is a skill!) and I do mainly buy makeup from Target. This MAC lipstick was gifted to me recently and I love how it goes on smooth and doesn’t have a fake smell like some lipsticks. It’s a little more formal just by itself, I would wear it to a wedding or an evening dinner date. But to make it more for everyday like school pickup and errands, I have been putting this new vinyl gloss on top! It helps set the color and gives a shine without your hair getting in your lip gloss every time the wind blows!
5 dinners I make again and again!
Honey Garlic Chicken (great alone or with rice and broccoli)
Mini Sheet Pan Tostadas (use a Rotisserie chicken)
Baked Chimichangas (I prefer ground beef over chicken)
Stuffed Shells (I make enough for two nights and serve a vegetable for one night and a salad and garlic toast for the other)
Mongolian Beef (it really is amazing)
Repurposed antique
If you’ve been following on Instagram or certainly if you’ve ever been at my home, you are aware of my love for blue and white Wedgwood. I’ve loved blue and white forever, but fell in love with this particular pottery when I was shooting a wedding and used a dish for detail shots. Since then I have visited plenty of antique stores and sometimes on Etsy to find the best deals to decorate and sometimes wear!
One of my darling neighbors knows how much I love it too, and she gifted me a piece she’s had for a few decades. So incredibly sweet of her! I researched this stick pin to see how it use to be popular with ties and scarves and ultimately decided to repurpose it onto my charm bracelet with some needle nose pliers and will clip the end off! I love it!
