5 things you need to determine after you get engaged | GA & SC Wedding Photographer

If you are new here, welcome! I’m Chloe, a small business owner in Evans, Georgia and professional photographer since 2012. I love being at home with my husband and three kids, trying new crafts and recipes, and getting to visit the lowcountry when I can. I’ve been photographing weddings for close to 12 years now and couldn’t love it more!

Here are the first five things you should determine at the beginning of your planning after soaking it in and telling your friends and family!

* date
* venue
* size of your celebration
* overall budget
* prioritizing and securing must have vendors

Some of these may seem obvious, but when you inquire most vendors need at a minimum your date and venue before they can make sure they are available. Determining the size of the event may come first and the budget following or the reverse. If you have your eye on a certain vendor, don’t wait too long! Especially if you’re getting married during a peak season like the spring or fall, those dates go quickly and yours is not reserved until there is a signed contract and paid retainer with most vendors. Some small businesses only take a limited amount of work per year to ensure their level of quality and client experience, so reach out as soon as you are able! Enjoy the process, and remember all that matters at the end is that you’re married and have your stunning photos to remember it!
