In the winter since I have a little more time, I like to give more attention to doing things around my home, reevaluating anything that is working or not for us, more new recipe research, more crafts, more indoor/outdoor projects with the help of my husband, and finally getting around to editing my own family’s personal photos <3
Usually I share some of this in reels on Instagram throughout the year, but I’ve decided to blog this series instead this year, naming it #contentwithChloe where I will share weekly one beauty/health product I am loving, recipe recommendations I’ve tried that the whole family appreciates, and a craft/project too!
No affiliate links here, but I will include where you can find them. I hope this winter series inspires you in the kitchen, to create something new, or most importantly in your home where I hope you feel restored and the most joy.
Our special occasion cookies
I love making homemade cookies on a regular basis, and we have some of our favorites I do a lot! These cookie sandwiches are incredible and the only reason I don’t make them as often is because of the amount of butter and powdered sugar lol we don’t need on a weekly basis. We usually have them for birthdays and Christmas! They get finished so quick, I never remember to even take a photo!
Custom hairbrushes
I love doing crafts and I love doing crafts with my kids too! This one the girls were involved and we were searching for one to do with supplies we already had at the house! All you need is your hairbrush, maybe some pearls, seashells, rhinestones, some other details, and a lot of super glue. I do recommend wearing rubber gloves too if you also don’t want to be wearing the super glue for a day or two ;)
Really that is it! Lean into whatever little details fit your style and let it sit for 24 hours after you finish. We buy little $10 rhinestone kits (from when we did headbands) and it comes with a wax pencil to pick each up. We had seashells from a past trip to the beach!
If your patience runs out, with most tedious things, take a break and come back to it! We love our brushes and it’s a sweet memory too!
Exfoliating Mitt
I grew up in the time of using apricot scrub and maybe even rubbing alcohol as skincare. I am certainly not doing a multiple step routine every night, but I do include a few relatable things like this mitt! I love that it exfoliates, it doesn’t hurt, I just use water, and I use it maybe once a week, maybe twice, in the shower. I do think it has made a difference and I love how my face feels afterwards!
